      MORE INFO ABOUT Sara Evans

      Bio

Sara Evans recently emerged from her hiatus at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 3, 2011 where she performed her recent hit, "A Little Bit Stronger" to a standing ovation. She cited the emotional performance as a highlight of her career and the first standing ovation of her lifetime. Sara Evans tour dates are currently scheduled nationally in support of her comeback album, "Stronger".

The missouri native moved to Nashville in 1991 in the hopes of making country gold. She recorded a demo in 1995 for veteran songwriter, Harlan Howard, who was impressed by her rendition of his song "Tiger by the Tail". She was soon signed to RCA Nashville who released her first album, "Three Chords and The Truth" in 1997. The album released three singles to tepid rotation on country radio, however, her video for the title track was nominated for a Country Music Television award and the stunning beauty with the soulful voice was quickly garnering attention in the music world.

Evans' sophomore follow-up proved to be more successful. "No Place That Far", was released in 1998 and featured the #1 smash title-track duet with Vince Gill, which pushed sales of the album to Gold status. Evans reached multi-platinum success with "Born To Fly". The album featured the title-track #1 single, and the pop-crossover hit "I Could Not Ask For More" and she solidified herself as the next country female superstar. She was nominated for five awards at the Country Music Association ceremony and her album was certified double-platinum. Evans returned in 2003 with the album, "Restless" which featured the biggest single of career, thus far, "Suds in the Bucket". The album received a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2005 Academy of Country Music Awards.

In 2005, the country star released her fifth album, "A Real Fine Place to Start" and it became her first #1 album on Billboard's Country Albums survey. It also hit #3 on the Billboard 200, becoming her highest charting entry to-date. She released a Greatest Hits album in 2007 and then went on a long hiatus to focus on her personal life. She became embroiled in a highly publicized divorce which forced her off the hit ABC show "Dancing With the Stars" in 2006. She made a huge comeback in 2010 with the release of her current single, "A Little Bit Stronger". The track was co-written by Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum who had Evans in mind when she wrote the lyrics. Her performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2011 was a bold statement that she was back. The album was released in March, 2011 and hit #1 on the Country Albums charts and #6 on the Billboard 200.

In support of the album, Sara Evans tour dates are currently scheduled nationally. In addition to being an opening act on the Rascal Flatts summer tour, Sara Evans concert dates are booked periodically throughout 2011. The country diva is back and stronger than ever.
